PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 19th August 2026

WHO WE ARE
DivineLoveCares Foundation Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization incorporated in the State of New York, EIN 33-1917805. Our mailing address is 1526 E 13th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11230, and you can reach us at divinelovecaresfoundation@gmail.com or +1 (347) 647-7697.
The Foundation is a charitable organization with three commitments: supporting people who are going without, sustaining a halfway home for the indigent, and supporting the training of nurses at the Annunciation College of Nursing Sciences.

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

WHAT WE COLLECT, AND WHEN

We only collect information you choose to give us. There is no advertising network on this site, no cross-site tracking, and no profiling of visitors.

When you donate, we record your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the amount, the date, a payment reference, the project or program you directed it to, any message you attach, and whether you asked to remain anonymous publicly.

When you apply to volunteer, we record your name, email address, phone number, the city or state you are based in, the area of work you are interested in, your availability, any skills you list, and anything you write in the message field.

When you send us a message through the contact form, we record your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the subject, and the message itself.

When you register for an event, we record your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, how many people are coming with you, and any note you add.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we record your email address and your name if you give it.

WE DO NOT SEE OR STORE YOUR CARD DETAILS

Donations are processed by Stripe Payment. Your card number, expiration date and security code are entered on the processor's own secure checkout and are never transmitted to or stored on our systems. What we receive back is limited to the payment reference, the amount, whether the payment succeeded, and the type of payment method used.

IP ADDRESSES

When you submit the donation form, the volunteer form or the contact form, we also record the internet address (IP address) the submission came from. We do this to detect and block automated abuse and to investigate fraudulent or duplicated payments. We also record the IP address of failed attempts to sign in to our staff dashboard, so repeated attempts can be blocked automatically.

We do not use IP addresses to identify or track you across the internet.

COOKIES AND DO NOT TRACK

This website sets one cookie. It is a session cookie, it holds no personal information, and it exists so that forms can be submitted securely and staff can stay signed in to the dashboard. It expires when you close your browser or after a period of inactivity.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers. Because we do not track visitors across websites, we do not respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

Fonts on this site are served by Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads in order to deliver them. When you donate, our payment processor sets its own cookies on its checkout pages, governed by that company's privacy policy rather than ours.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use it to process and acknowledge donations and issue tax receipts; to respond to your messages; to review volunteer applications and contact you about placement; to manage event registrations; to send our newsletter if you asked for it; to keep accurate financial and organizational records; to prevent fraud and abuse; and to meet our legal, tax and reporting obligations.

WE DO NOT SELL OR RENT YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share your personal information with anyone for their own marketing purposes. We do not exchange or rent donor lists.

We share information only with the service providers we need in order to operate: our payment processor, which handles donations; our email provider, which delivers receipts and confirmations; and our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its database. Each of these acts on our instructions.

We will disclose information where required by law — for example, in response to a subpoena, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority — and where necessary to protect the rights or safety of any person.

If the Foundation ever merges with or transfers its operations to another organization, donor and supporter records may transfer as part of that, and we will give notice on this page before that happens.

DONOR RECOGNITION AND ANONYMITY

We will not publish your name as a donor if you check the box asking us to keep it off any public listing. If you do not check it, we may acknowledge your support publicly, but we will never publish the amount you gave, your contact details, or the content of any message you send us, without asking you first.

Certain state charitable-solicitation laws require us to file reports that may include donor information with state authorities. Where that is required, we comply, and we do not disclose more than the law requires.

TAX RECEIPTS

We keep records of contributions in order to issue written acknowledgments and to meet IRS substantiation requirements, including for single contributions of $250 or more. These records are retained for the periods described below.

THE PEOPLE WE SERVE

Residents of the halfway home we support, and students at the Annunciation College of Nursing Sciences, do not apply to us through this website, and we do not collect their personal information here. Applications, admissions and casework are handled by the home and the college directly, under their own policies.

Where we tell the story of someone we have supported, we do so only with their written permission, and we agree in advance what may be said. We do not publish a person's name, photograph, health information, housing situation, immigration status, criminal record, or any other personal circumstance in a way that identifies them, unless they have specifically agreed to it.

Anyone who has given that permission may withdraw it at any time by contacting us, and we will remove the material.

PHOTOGRAPHS

Some photographs on this site show the people and communities we work with. We publish a photograph of an identifiable person only with their consent, and in the case of a child, only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you appear in a photograph on this site and want it removed, contact us and we will take it down.

CHILDREN

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us, and we will delete it promptly.

EMAIL AND YOUR CHOICES

Every newsletter we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and our postal address. You can also contact us at any time and we will remove you. If you unsubscribe, we may still email you about a specific donation, volunteer application or event registration you submitted, because those messages are part of the transaction you asked for rather than marketing.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Regardless of where you live, you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. Contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will respond within [NUMBER] days. We may ask you to verify your identity first, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.

Some states give residents additional rights by statute. State privacy laws differ in whether they apply to nonprofit organizations — several, including California's, apply only to for-profit businesses, while others, including Colorado's and Oregon's, do reach nonprofits. Rather than rely on those distinctions, we extend the rights described above to everyone who asks.

If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive privacy law and you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may contact your state Attorney General's office.

VISITORS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

Our website is operated in the United States, and information you send us is stored and processed here. Privacy laws in the United States may differ from those where you live. If you contact us or donate from outside the United States, you are sending your information to the United States for the purposes described in this policy.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

Donation and financial records: [RETENTION PERIOD — CONFIRM WITH YOUR CPA; IRS AND STATE RULES SET MINIMUMS FOR NONPROFIT FINANCIAL RECORDS].

Volunteer applications: [RETENTION PERIOD, FOR EXAMPLE 2 YEARS AFTER LAST CONTACT].

Contact form messages: [RETENTION PERIOD, FOR EXAMPLE 12 MONTHS].

Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.

Records of failed sign-in attempts: a short period, for security purposes only.

HOW WE PROTECT IT

Staff passwords are stored only as one-way cryptographic hashes and never in a readable form. Access to the dashboard is limited to authorized staff, each with their own account and only the level of access their role requires, and repeated failed sign-in attempts are locked out automatically. The site is served over an encrypted connection, and payment processing is handled entirely by a licensed payment provider.

No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable state breach-notification law.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change is significant, we will say so clearly rather than quietly amending the text.
